Free business card scanner for cards, badges and QR codes

Innovnet includes a free business card scanner: point your phone camera at a paper business card, an event badge or a QR code, and Innovnet reads the printed details into a contact. Scanning is free forever on the Basic plan. On PRO (CA$9.99/month), each new contact is pushed to HubSpot or Salesforce.

How it works

  1. 1. Open the contact list

Sign in on your phone and choose the scan action on the contact you are adding.

  2. 2. Photograph the printed text

The camera reads the text printed on the card or badge. It does not read a barcode format such as PDF417.

  3. 3. Save the contact

The name and details land in your contacts. Add a note, a tag, or a priority, then export a CSV when you need it.

What you get

  • Paper still works

A buyer who only has a paper card can still end up in your list. You scan what they hand you.

  • Badges at the door

An event badge with a printed name can be scanned the same way. Tag that contact to the event campaign.

  • QR codes too

A printed QR code can be read into contacts. The other person does not install an app.

  • Stays on Basic

Scanning stays when a PRO trial ends. The account returns to Basic and the contacts stay.

Basic is free forever. It includes up to three profiles, Centered and Classic layouts, Save Contact, Exchange Contact, and Share, plus a custom exchange-contact form. Contacts from a scan or an exchange can hold notes, tags, and a priority. You can export them as a CSV. Each exchange can send you an email, and people who exchange can receive an automated email.

Insights cover the week, the month, and the year. Event campaigns let you tag scanned leads to one open house or one conference. An Apple Wallet pass and an AI assistant are on Basic, including AI lead chat on the contacts you already have. Scanning uses the phone camera on printed text. It is not an offline mode, and it does not promise reminder emails.

PRO is $9.99 CAD a month or $99.99 CAD a year. The trial is 30 days of PRO, once per account, and it does not ask for a payment card. PRO adds Card Mode, Elegant and Profile-top layouts, HubSpot contact export, and Salesforce lead sync. Both exports are one way. Advanced analytics, AI lead suggestion, and AI lead chat with the full visitor history are PRO. When the trial ends, nothing is charged and Card Mode taps fall back to the profile.

A physical NFC card is a separate one-time purchase, from CA$29.99 for PVC. Every card has a chip and a printed QR code. Both open the same profile, and the person receiving it does not need an app. Cards ship from Hamilton, Ontario. Shipping is $10 CAD anywhere in Canada, with delivery in 5–9 business days and no customs or duties on Canadian orders.

Questions

Is there a free business card scanner app?

Yes. Innovnet’s Basic plan includes free scanning of paper business cards, event badges and QR codes with your phone camera. Basic is free forever, with no card needed.

How do I scan a business card into my contacts?

Open Innovnet, tap Scan, point your camera at the card and check the details it reads. Save it, and the card becomes a contact with notes, tags and priority.

Can I scan event badges with my phone?

Yes. Innovnet reads the printed details on an event badge into a contact and lets you tag it to the event. It reads printed text, not a badge barcode such as PDF417.

Can scanned business cards go to Salesforce or HubSpot?

Yes, on PRO. Each new contact creates or updates a HubSpot contact or a Salesforce Lead. Data goes one way, from Innovnet to your CRM. A HubSpot export skips a contact that has no valid email.

Can I export scanned contacts?

Yes. Export your contacts as a CSV file on any plan.

Does the scanner work offline?

No. Scanning uses your phone camera on the printed text while you are online. Offline scanning is not offered.
