What is a Facebook plate?
A Facebook plate is a small sign with an NFC chip and a QR code. A customer taps it, or scans it, and their phone opens your business’s Facebook Page. No app, and no search for the right Page.
Innovnet’s version is a display plate for a counter or a wall. It is $44 CAD, once. You confirm the Page when the plate arrives. That is the short answer to what is a Facebook plate.

How the tap works
The plate holds a passive NFC chip. Hold a phone a few centimetres away and the chip shares a web address: your Facebook Page. The chip has no battery, does not store personal data, and does not read the customer’s phone. The NFC Forum publishes the short-range standard behind that tap.
Every plate also prints a QR code for the same Page. If NFC is off, or the phone is older, the camera still gets there. Most current iPhones and Android phones can do the tap.
Where businesses put it
Counter
Next to the till, where the customer is already holding a phone.
Wall
Adhesive on the back holds it at eye level by the door or the waiting area.
Desk
A separate plate stand is CA$9 if you want it upright without sticking it down.
Setup in three steps
The chip and the QR code are programmed before the plate ships. You confirm the Page on arrival.
- Scan the setup code printed on the plate.
- Enter the activation code and link your Facebook Page.
- Place it on the counter or the wall. The next tap opens that Page, where someone can like, follow, or message.
Plate, review stand, or Instagram tag
Same tap. Different destination. All three are one-time prices in CAD.
| Facebook plate | Google review plate | Instagram tag | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opens | Your Facebook Page | Your Google review form | Your Instagram profile |
| Form | Counter or wall plate | Counter plate | Tag, not a plate |
| Tap and QR | Both. No app | Both. No app | Both. No app |
| Price | $44 CAD | $44 CAD | $44 CAD |
The Google review stand opens the review box instead of a Page. The Instagram tap tag opens a profile and can be updated after activation.
What the customer can do
The Page opens. They can like it, follow it, or send a message. The plate does not write a post for them, and it does not collect their phone number. The chip only shares the Page address.
Before you stick it down:
- Confirm the Page that opens is the business Page, not a personal profile.
- Try a tap on a current iPhone and on an Android phone you have at the counter.
- Turn NFC off, or use a phone that cannot tap, and scan the QR code. It should open the same Page.
The Google review plate says to avoid mounting directly on metal, because metal can interfere with NFC. The Facebook plate page does not repeat that line. Test the tap on the surface you will use, and keep the QR code as the backup.
Price
The Facebook plate is $44 CAD, one time. There is no hardware subscription. Shipping is $10 CAD anywhere in Canada, from Hamilton, Ontario, with no customs or duties. Canada delivery is 5–9 business days.
If you also want a link that opens a Google review box, start with how to get your Google review link. That link is free. The plate is a separate product.
Common questions
Do customers need an app?
No. A tap or a scan opens your Facebook Page in the phone’s browser. Nothing has to be installed on the customer’s phone.
Does it work on iPhone?
Most current iPhones can read the NFC chip. If a phone cannot tap, the printed QR code opens the same Page. Any phone with a camera can scan it.
Can I change the link later?
You link the Facebook Page when you activate the plate. The product page does not say you can point it at a different Page later. Email inquiry@innovnet.ai if the Page changes.
Is it a plate or a sticker?
It is a display plate for a counter or a wall, with adhesive on the back. It is not a sticker. A separate plate stand is CA$9 if you want it standing on a desk.
Does it work through a phone case?
The chip is read from a few centimetres. A case can block the tap. If the Page does not open, scan the QR code printed on the plate.
